Peahen with two chicks at Delhi
Peahen with two chicks at Delhi

We always talk about Peacock… the male being one of the most beautiful and largest flying birds of the avian world, who can not choose her partner for courtship or having the next generation to follow him. The Power to choose a male with whom the peahen would mate and would have the off springs has been given to the Peahen (female) about whom we rarely talk about.

The peahen takes care of all the requirements of the chicks and protects from the predators and teaches them the basics of life which keeps them moving further in their life when the peahen is not with them at each and every stage of life.

Here she is showing the world where they would be spending their life.

Subsequently after protecting them may merge with the nature forever.

The ambience of the scenario reminds me of a lovely song from the old Hindi movie —Hariyali Aur Rasta—-“Bol Meri Taqdeer May Kya Hai…Mere Hamsafar Ab To Bata…Jiwan Ke Do Pahlu Hai Hariyali Aur Rasta.”
