Children’s Day – 14th November

People having interest in Hindi songs would have heard the song given below from the Hindi Movie “DO KALIYAAN”. This was the song which I heard in my childhood and still lingers in my memory whenever I see a child. It brings out the true character of a child of the living creatures irrespective of whether the child/chick /fawn is of a bird, animal, mammal or of human beings.

बच्चे मन के सच्चे
सारी जग के आँख के तारे
ये वो नन्हे फूल हैं जो
भगवान को लगते प्यारे
बच्चे मन के सच्चे

Translation into English language of the above lyrics in Hindi is as given below.
Children are true at heart
They are loved by all in the world
They are little flowers
Whom God likes them very much
Children are true at heart.

In India we started celebrating 14th November as the Childern’s Day from 1964 in memory of our Late Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru as he had special liking for the children. Before that we celebrated Children’s Day on 20th November that was observed as the Universal Children’s Day by the United Nations. The basic purpose was to raise awareness of people towards their rights, care and education of our children.

Let us celebrate this day on a positive note as when we visit wilderness we always like to see the chicks of the birds as well as cubs of a tiger /leopard or fawns of the deer and so on in the wild.

In the wilderness of human beings every parent wants to have children for the continuity of the family tree and progress of his/her family and many a times to accomplish certain objectives/aims through children which they failed to achieve.
