If Nitya Aggarwal ,known among the Flamingo watchers of Mumbai had not insisted me to visit the Karnala Bird Sanctuary ,just 60 km from Mumbai on the Mumbai Goa road (12 km from Panvel ) I would have missed the opportunity of seeing a lovely green habitat during the best season for the birders from November to February. I was there in the morning of 3rd January 2019.

It is the tourist destination for Mumbaikars . Some go for trekking to the Fort at the top of the hill and others go as picnikers for distressing and for bird watching.

I was there for about 3 hours and was able to shoot birds interalia such as Racket Tail Drongo ,Black Drongo ,Malabar Whistling Thrush ,White rumped Shama ,Black Naped Blue Monarch ,Asian Paradise Flycatcher (Male and Female ) and Forest Wagtail.

At the end of the visit Bonnet Macaques showed their presence at the entrance gate of the Sanctuary.

I am sharing some of the images of the birds taken on 3rd January 2019.
