Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharshtra
Tadoba is the oldest national park in Maharashtra and is also known as ‘The Jewel of Vidharba’ (where Vidharba refers to north-eastern part of Maharashtra). Location
How to reach Tadoba: Closest Airport is Nagpur which is connected to all major cities. Nagpur is around 150 kms (3 hours drive by car) from Tadoba. Nagpur is also connected by rail network to all major cities of India. One can also reach to Chandrapur station(45 kms from Tadoba), if going by train although limited trains goes there as compared to Tadoba.
Best Time to Visit
Tadoba park is open round the year. However, only few roads remain open in monsoons from 1st July to 15th October. From 16th October to 30th June all zones of the park are open.
Winters, which are from mid-October to February provides comfortable weather with moderate tiger and other predators sighting, however for birders this is good time in Tadoba. For photographers, light conditions are amazing in winters in Tadoba.
In Summers, from March to June, sightings of tigers and other predators increase because of water scarcity in the park. Lightning conditions are good in early morning and evening.
