An excerpt from Eye of the Leopard, a nature documentary by Dereck and Beverly Joubert’s film, depicts how a female’s inherent maternal love exceeds her avarice. Legadema, the cub around whose life and growth the film is based on, discovers that a neo natal monkey is clinging on to the body of the baboon she is dragging away for her meal. What happens next is rather unbelievable, and beautiful.
